🐙 To generalize or to specialize?
my answer on picking a "niche" (plus an AI prompt to help you nail it)
Hey there, solopreneur!
Imagine this: You're at a networking event, handing out business cards to anyone who will take one.
"I'm a marketing consultant," you say with an overly enthusiastic grin.
"I can help with branding, websites, social media, SEO, PPC, email marketing, and even carrier pigeon training..."
The poor soul you're talking to slowly inches away, looking for the nearest escape route.
Does this ring a bell?
When you're a generalist, you're not just a small fish in a big pond. You're more like plankton, floating around in a vast ocean of sameness.
And trust me, being plankton isn't exactly a lucrative gig.
But what if I said there's a way to transform from plankton to the top dog in your market?
It all boils down to one simple idea:
Niching down.
"When you're one of a million, you're a commodity. When you're one of a kind, you're a legend."
Today, we're going to explore how you can use the wizardry of AI to uncover a hyper-specific, insanely profitable niche that perfectly aligns with your unique skills and passions.

Let’s. Niche. Down. 🤿
How I went from 0 to 100k followers in 65 days

But through consistent content creation and the use of AI, I was able to financially and mentally get back on my feet again in record time.
That’s why I built The AI Audience Accelerator.

Why "The Riches Are In The Niches" Is More Than Just A Catchy Phrase
You just walked into a restaurant that proudly proclaims, "We serve everything!"
Burgers? Check. Sushi? You got it. Tacos? Of course. Pizza? Duh.
Sounds great, right? Until you realize that they're masters of none.
Jack of all trades, but ace of none.
Now picture a cozy little joint that serves the best damn pizza you've ever tasted.
They've spent years perfecting their craft, sourcing the finest ingredients, and delivering a pizza experience that's out of this world.
Who do you think is going to have customers lined up around the block?
The same principle applies to your business.
When you try to be everything to everyone, you blend in with the masses.
You're just another generic:
"Web designer"
“Life coach"
“Fitness trainer"
But when you niche down and focus on serving a specific group of people with a specific problem?
When you connect 2 unrelated fields, like:
AI for solopreneurs
Email course writing for dentists
Short-form video editing for fashion influencers
That's when the magic happens.
3 reasons why niching down is the key to striking gold in your business:
You become the go-to expert in your field. You're not just another generalist blending in with the crowd. You're the specialist that your ideal clients seek out when they need a specific problem solved.
You can charge premium prices for your expertise.
Because your knowledge is specialized and in high demand, you can command top-dollar for your services. No more competing on price or racing to the bottom. When you're the go-to expert, clients are happy to pay a premium for your expertise. You can create irresistible offers that practically sell themselves. When you know your niche inside and out, you can create products and services that are tailor-made for your ideal client's specific needs and desires. No more guessing or trying to please everyone. Just insanely valuable offers that your niche can't resist.
Because when someone has a problem, they don't want a generalist.
They’re looking to solve ONE specific problem — and they want the best damn solution they can find.
And that's where you come in.
By honing in on one specific niche, you have the luxury of focusing on one client archetype.
This means you can dive deep into their world, understand their unique challenges, and craft a solution that's tailor-made for them.
When you're a generalist, it's impossible to do this.
But how do you actually find your niche?
And once you do, how do you make sure it's profitable?
That's where AI comes to the rescue.
C’mon, I’ll show you how…
SIDE NOTE: Now, this doesn’t mean that you have to ONLY talk about your specific offer in your content.
You can talk about whatever you like.
After all, it’s your PERSONAL brand. And people are attracted to people who have a diverse range of interests.
But when it comes to your actual business offer, keep it specific.
The "Niche Sniper 3000" Prompt
This prompt will help you brainstorm profitable niche ideas and evaluate their potential:
Suggest 10 niche ideas for my business based on the following criteria:
My skills and expertise: [LIST YOUR SKILLS]
My passions and interests: [LIST YOUR PASSIONS]
Market demand and profitability: Identify niches with a proven track record of people paying for solutions
For each niche idea, include:
A specific target audience
The main problem or desire they have
How my skills and passions align with solving that problem
An example of a successful business serving that niche
Potential products or services to offer
Provide your analysis on the profitability and competitiveness of each niche.
Then, help me prioritize the top 3 niche ideas based on profitability, alignment with my strengths, and my excitement to serve that audience.
For each of the top 3, brainstorm a compelling unique selling proposition (USP) and an irresistible offer I could make.
HOW TO USE THE Niche Sniper 3000 PROMPT:
Replace [LIST YOUR SKILLS] with your areas of expertise and experience.
Example: "Career coaching, resume writing, interview skills"
Replace [LIST YOUR PASSIONS] with topics you're excited about and would love to focus on in your business.
Example: "Helping women re-enter the workforce, negotiation skills, leadership development"
Let AI work its magic and generate a list of 10 potential niche ideas tailored to your unique strengths and interests.
Here’s an example of it’s output when I inputted my SKILLS as “Writing, marketing, sales, video editing, articulation” and my INTERESTS as “AI, environmentalism, sports, fashion”:
