Introduction

This weekend, I was thinking about ways to monetize the AI Solopreneur.

Building the community is a lot of fun, and to make it sustainable, I also need to make a living off it.

But I don't (only) want to monetize the AI Soloprenuer like all the other newsletters do:

  • Selling courses

  • Paid community

  • Newsletter ads

Rather, I wanted to come up with unconventional (more fun) ways to make a living from it.

So I once again turned to my most trusted advisor:

GPT-4.

I’ll share the results with you soon, but first:

Why should you even bother finding unique ways to monetize your business?

The Power of Creating a Unique Offer

Hammer this into your brain:

If you want to make money, don’t ever compete with someone else.

Why?

Because as soon as someone offers the exact same thing as you…

You’re competing on price.

This is a race to the bottom.

If you want:

  • High margins

  • Pricing power

  • An edge on newcomers

Then…

You need to create a new market where you don’t compete with anyone.

This may sound more complicated than the name of Elon Musk’s baby, but in reality, creating a new market is about differentiating yourself.

There are multiple ways to do this, and getting into each would blow the scope of today’s newsletter.

But one way to create a competition-free market is to create a unique offer.

When your offer is unique, you have 100% market share and no competition.

The simplest example is this newsletter.

Why did you sign up for it?

Because it’s the only newsletter specifically about AI for solopreneurs.

= Unique offer.

This unique positioning was essential for my rapid growth from 0 to 79,000+ followers on Twitter in 8 weeks.

HOW CREATING UNIQUE OFFERS HELPS YOU MAKE MORE MONEY

  • If you want to make money, never compete with someone else. It’s a race to the bottom.

  • Create a new market where you are the only player

  • When your offer is unique, you have 100% market share and no competition.

The trickiest part of creating unconventional offers:

Coming up with them.

This is where ChatGPT can help:

It was still amazing.
