How to use my CRISP framework to craft your elevator pitch

The best elevator pitches are short and… crisp.

Like my favorite chips:

Most people don’t understand this.

I just googled “examples of famous elevator pitches” and this HUGE block of text came up.

I won’t even bother reading it.

Many entrepreneurs mistakenly think that elevator pitches should convert a stranger into a buyer in 60 seconds.

This is NOT an elevator pitch.

That’s a f*cking bad, long sales letter.

This mistake is silently killing their chances of getting a foot in the door.

Instead:

The goal of your elevator pitch is to spark a strangers’ interest for a future conversation in 60 seconds.

I believe everyone has the attention span of a gold fish and we need to be concise and punchy to get our message along.

The secret to do this?

Making the elevator pitch concrete…

…yet curiosity-invoking at the same time.

I - Identity

Add a pinch of personality to your pitch - what’s unique about you?

S - Simulation: 

Practice the pitch with a timer. No more than 30 seconds allowed. Record yourself, listen, critique, and refine.

Now, write 5 elevator pitches for me and my business

Constraints:

1) Each elevator pitch must be shorter than 280 characters
2) Make the elevators short, yet punchy
3) Appeal to the targets' self interest
4) Build curiosity while being ultra-specific
5) Don't sell - just sublty introduce
6) Don't include a CTA
7) All benefits you introduce must be tangible and specific
8) Use the tone of voice of a good friend
9) Use plain, simple language
